July 31, 2020 0
The school administration decided to have regular online classes for students who are at home during the current COVID-19 season with the help of the Sulaimaniya Smart School Team. The online timetable for teachers and students shared through class teachers. Therefore teachers had to learn the online teaching platforms for remote teaching. Therefore, the smart ambassadors of Sulaimaniya College gave support to those who need help with remote teaching. It is a great opportunity for all teachers to use the technology in teaching and learning process. All students have to spend two hours daily on online learning. For a week they have to spend 10 hours. Many teachers use their smartphones for teaching. Those who don't have access to a computer, come to the school lab to do their session. It was scheduled to have the online classes from 8.00 am to 10.00 am but the administration has given the flexibility to have the online class during any time of the particular day. Many parents were positive about this decision. Also, teachers create learning worksheets for students who don't have access to online learning.

Moved from Zoom to Teams

June 30, 2020 0
At the beginning of lockdown, many teachers had started to use Zoom Application for remote teaching and learning process. Because it is very convenient for teachers and students at the beginning. Also, this was a new experience for everyone.
Because of the limitation in the Zoom free version, many teachers struggle to keep the students for a long time. Also, they had to maintain a separate file sharing app to share the documents. Since our school has MOU with Microsoft Education, all teachers and students have license to use MS Teams. MS Teams has many options when compared Zoom Application. In the MS Team, we can create channels to manage subgroups and share files. Also we can record the video and it will be automatically saved in the OneDrive. Student can watch the recorded video through MS Stream app in the mobile or desktop.
